When a business becomes designated, it is required to provide a youth-friendly environment for young people as employees and clientele. This means that the benefits for young people include:

• Increased participation of young people in Saskatchewan's economy.
• Helping young people find relevant and meaningful work opportunities.
• Assisting in developing career objectives and goals.
• Increased employment and business opportunities for the future.

Businesses that become designated will post positions on www.saskjobs.ca. Beside the job posting will be a logo that represents the designation.

When a designated employment opportunity arises, the employee is asked to:

• Understand and adhere to employment guidelines including attendance, participation, performance and code of conduct as outlined by employer.
• Inform the employer immediately of any special needs.
• Remain open to suggestions and feedback.
• Ask questions without hesitation.
• Identify in his or her application where knowledge has been obtained.
• Acknowledge that any false claims of abilities during the hiring process and while employed are grounds for dismissal.
